Nation Info
A nation filled with mainly Dragonborns, although any species is free to call this place home. The people here love gold and material possessions with all their hearts. They do not have kindness for the sake of kindness1, they have kindness for the sake of profit. They are greedy and selfish1, but of you pay enough, they are very reliable.2 Their nation is built like any other, but prices are far higher here than anywhere else. These prices stem from two things:
- They’re greedy
- Due to their greedy nature, they have accumulated wealth from all the nations in the world. In doing so, there is a large quantity of coins in this nation. That directly leads to inflation.
They have many ‘rituals’ that some may find strange
Main rituals
- Making money
slavery does not exist here
Family Management
All people in the household gives 60% of their earnings to the ‘owners of the house’, usually meaning a mother and father. The money is split between them, usually.
Birth
Being pregnant is considered a ‘bad’ thing, but having children is considered a ‘good’ thing. This is because being pregnant usually means you must take time off of working, and thus loosing potential profits. However, having children allows you to increase your families workforce, therefore an increase in profit. This conflict causes many to ignore the fact that they are pregnant until it is time to give birth, they then quickly, or immediately, go back to work.
Child Labor
Child labor is not only common, it is encouraged, and even forced in some households. School is looked at as ‘pointless’, as such, as soon as a child is capable enough, they begin working jobs and earning money.
Coming of Age
Upon the being becoming an adult, they must chose a person that they wish to become a proper apprentice to, or any form of needing something to make a living, and offer that person their ‘lifes savings’ that they have accumulated thus far. This amount is usually a relatively large sum for most people, but in comparison to what these ‘masters’ generally make, it is looked at as an insult in a lot of circumstances, causing the young adult to chose another. This cycle usually repeats multiple times. This apprentice position does not come with any benefits, and usually causes a lowering in both profits and comfort of living. However, it usually leads to better opportunities for future promotion.
Death
Upon their death, the family of the deceased will get the deceased cremated. They then put their ashes into 36 glass ‘dishes’. The dishes are then put in auction. The profits go to pay any debts the deceased had, and the rest goes to the family.
Deal Making
They usually greet one another by putting their wrists together, hands apart, and fingers curled inward, equivalent to shaking hands. On the other hand, when agreeing upon a deal, they place the back of one hand against that of the other, and pulled it away to the side quickly, as if to signify mutual distrust and understanding.
Entering Buildings
They are required to pay an admission fee of one gold coin per person to enter any building. They are also required to sign a waiver, acknowledging responsibility in the event that something went missing following their visit

Police
They have a ‘police force’ made up of mostly shapeshifters. They are strict about the law3

While this is true, there are exceptions. Family bonds can make some do silly things. ↩ ↩2
-
This is only true to an extent, there are plenty of examples where even for exorbitant fees, one would still turn tail and run. A life is better than even the best coin. ↩

They mix the laws of Thalassiril and Azerlium ↩
