Session begins Skyfire 15th 801av.

  • Aerendyl is now on the ship with his fiancĂ©e, Shylah Remor, in the port of Discernia. After a final check for any last-minute things to do or buy, the ship sets sail for Amerihya.
  • Aerendyl rolls a natural 20 on a d20. The journey is initially calm, and Aerendyl and Shylah Remor spend multiple weeks having a wonderful time.
  • Aerendyl learns that Shylah Remor’s son has gone out on his own to start a new business in Amerihya.
  • About halfway through the journey, the ship meets another ship for a seemingly regular trade occurrence.
  • The ship eventually arrives in Niam, a place Aerendyl has visited before when setting sail to Brelnada. Shylah Remor informs Aerendyl that her boat, the Gilded Osprey, is in dire need of maintenance, and repairs will take about a month or two.
  • Aerendyl calculates that a trip to Thalassiril and back on horseback would take 44 days. Since the ship will take around to 72 days (two months) for repairs and restocking, they have enough time to visit Thalassiril.
  • Aerendyl suggests setting a date for the wedding. Shylah Remor expresses interest in a nice, large wedding, explaining that her previous marriage was out of requirement, not love, and as such, was a small wedding.
  • Aerendyl brings up the idea of holding the wedding in Thalassiril. His father, a high up general, is hesitant, noting that due to Aerendyl’s status as the son of a high general, a wedding held there would be a large, public event. Something that most citizens would be aware of if not directly take place in. He also expresses concern about Aerendyl’s mother’s reaction, especially since Shylah Remor is a Tiefling. Aerendyl promises to tell his mother first.
  • Aerendyl’s father also expresses concern about the wedding being held in Amerihya due to political tension. Aerendyl then updates his father about the bounty of 300 million1 on his head from Serenity Fendoral, the former leader of The Fingers Discount. Aerendyl’s father tells him he has a bounty of 1.2 million.
  • Aerendyl goes to a special tree stump telephone booth to call his mother, Miriel. Miriel is initially upset that Aerendyl called his father first.
  • Aerendyl informs his mother he is getting married to Shylah Remor, a Tiefling. Miriel overreacts, expressing her disappointment that Shylah Remor is not a High Elf. Aerendyl then asks if they can hold the wedding in Thalassiril. Miriel agrees, under the condition that she meets Shylah Remor first, and states, “I shall prepare the ceremony”.
  • Aerendyl relays the growing number of wedding requirements from Shylah Remor to his mother over multiple calls via the tree stump.
  • Aerendyl and Shylah Remor begin the journey to Thalassiril by horse and wagon. On the 13th day of travel, they cross the border from Amerihya into Thalassiril.
  • Upon reaching the city, Aerendyl removes his hood to show his crest for identification. A High Elf Lair guard opens a large gate to let them in, as he was informed they were coming.
  • Aerendyl and Shylah Remor travel to Aerendyl’s house and are greeted by Miriel, who had been waiting. Miriel is surprised by Shylah Remor’s appearance, noting she could find no flaw and saying, “At least I know what your taste is now”. Shylah Remor formally introduces herself.
  • While giving Shylah Remor a tour of the house, Aerendyl encounters a transparent, ghostly projection of Shain Everon in the main bedroom. Shain Everon explains he has been managing the multiverse and is now functionally a god with macro-control of the world and spell casting limited to 8th-tier or lower.
  • Shain Everon gives Aerendyl a small dodecahedron, a magically infused sending stone, to contact him. Shylah Remor appears to be interested in Shain Everon’s power, asking if he can “do anything”. Shain Everon cleans the dusty house using a wave of moving dust particles.
  • Shylah Remor pulls Shain aside and pulls out a soul cage from her bag containing the souls of 30 Dark Elves she killed and asks Shain Everon to infuse them into her black wedding dress so they can be seen in agony. Shain Everon agrees and creates the visual effect, before being formally invited to the wedding.
  • Aerendyl and Shylah Remor then visit Aerendyl’s father, who is still in his office. Aerendyl gives his father the detailed notes on Coldera’s maps. The father is impressed by Shylah Remor.
  • Aerendyl searches for and finds Deryth, his old comrade, in a government building with a sign that reads “Veterans Benefit”. Aerendyl learns that Deryth is engaged to a woman named Kearstyn.
  • Deryth then reveals he stole Aerendyl’s makeshift blueprints for his own mechanical arm and leg to try to help injured soldiers, but the attempts all failed. Aerendyl is furious that Deryth made these attempts without his help, but agrees to create new prosthetics for Amrod, Aerendyl’s former commanding officer who lost his whole right arm in a training accident, and a young cadet named Faden, who lost his left leg mid-thigh down.
  • Aerendyl gets the consent and measurements from Amrod and Faden. Aerendyl plans to use Mithril for Amrod and iron for Faden.
  • Aerendyl works for about four hours and completes both the arm and the leg.
  • Aerendyl arrives home to find Shylah Remor and his mother arguing over the color of the wedding dress (black vs. green), which is resolved with a compromise.
  • The wedding plans are finalized: 800 people will be in attendance; there will be a grand stroll through the capital; Shylah Remor can wear her black dress for the ceremony but must have a green accent for the stroll; Aerendyl’s father will preside over the ceremony; and no magic can be used during the ceremony.
  • The wedding is scheduled for one week from now. Aerendyl had previously sent invitations to Yinlare and Aragorn while he was in Discernia.
  • The next morning, Aerendyl begins the operation to install Amrod’s new arm, with Deryth and Faden present. Amrod endures the painful process of having screws drilled into his bone without anesthetic, shattering the wooden stick he bit down on. The process ends with Amrod only having limited motion in the new arm.
  • Faden is terrified by the process and asks to back out. Aerendyl attempts to encourage him by reminding him of his mother and late father. Aerendyl proceeds with the operation, doing two screws on the sides and one on the bottom of the bone. Faden shakes violently and foams at the mouth, but ultimately survives the drilling.
  • During the final step of connecting the nerves, Faden rolls a natural 1 on a save and has a literal stroke. Aerendyl uses his medicine knowledge to pull him through, but Faden wakes up with irreparable brain damage and severe memory loss, saying, “Who are you? Where am I? Who am I?“. Aerendyl sends Amrod to get a healer.
  • Aerendyl chastises Deryth for stealing his designs and informs him that the procedure is too dangerous to perform and must be classified.

Session ends Moonblossom 33rd 801av.

Footnotes

  1. This number is incorrect. Aerendyl misremembered the number and is actually only 300,000 gold, not 300 million. ↩
