Session starts Dreamember 29th 800av 12:00PM.

  • Aragorn, Aerendyl, and Shain are leaving the tribunal building after Aragorn was exonerated of his crimes. The General, who was the accuser, will face his own trial for treason.
  • A man, Captain Theron Vale, approaches Aragorn, stating the judge sent him to escort Aragorn through the city due to concerns about the other general or his accomplices. Aragorn is almost 100% certain the man is telling the truth. Captain Vale is in his early 40s, with red hair and two swords.
  • Captain Vale explains that another woman, Serenity Fendoral, has escaped prison and there might be further attempts on Aragorn’s life.
  • Aerendyl observes that Captain Vale is not wearing a military or guard uniform and appears to be a peasant or mercenary. Aerendyl then walks up to the group.
  • Captain Vale properly introduces himself as Captain Theron Vale, which Aerendyl disputes, saying he looks more like a “Gary.”
  • Shain asks Captain Vale who he is assigned to protect. Captain Vale clarifies his orders are to protect only Aragorn on his journey to Judicar, due to political tensions.
  • Shain asks Captain Vale about any history with demons, devils, or antichrists. Captain Vale replies, “That I know of.”
  • Shain also asks about a hero who fought a dragon, and Captain Vale clarifies that the hero repelled the dragon, but did not kill it. Captain Vale reveals he possesses a sword with a dragon tooth embedded in it.
  • Shain goes to a magic shop in the merchant district to purchase a scroll of detect thoughts for 400 gold. He also inquires about “modified memory” but the shop does not have it.
  • Three explosions are heard in different areas (east, south, and west), sounding like fireworks but are clearly not. Captain Vale strongly urges Aragorn to leave for his safety.
  • Aragorn decides to investigate the closest explosion, which is to the south. Aerendyl goes east, and Shain goes west.
  • Each of them arrives at their respective locations to find the areas engulfed in flames with fire elementals walking around. Aragorn and Aerendyl recognize the elementals as formidable opponents.
  • Shain attempts to communicate with a fire elemental in Primordial, asking “Who sent you?“. The elemental ignores him. Shain then tries to use a “booming blade” spell but decides against it to avoid drawing too much attention.
  • Aerendyl casts two Wind Wall spells to entrap a fire elemental. The first wall blows out its fingers, and the second encloses it, blowing out its head as it tries to fly up. This successfully removes one elemental.
  • Captain Vale, realizing Aragorn’s intent to fight, attempts to douse a fire elemental with water, but the elemental is too hot, turning the water into steam.
  • Aragorn attacks the fire elemental with his swords, because that will totally work.
  • The fire elemental attacks Aragorn, hitting twice. It then projects a blue pillar of fire into the sky, signaling other elementals, and they begin to converge on Aragorn’s location.
  • Another fire elemental spawns from a burning house near Aragorn and Captain Vale.
  • Combat begins, with Captain Vale attacking a fire elemental. The elemental ignores Captain Vale and attacks Aragorn.
  • Captain Vale grabs Aragorn’s hand and casts a spell. Aragorn fails a Wisdom saving throw and passes out.
  • As Aragorn collapses, all the fire elementals disappear. Captain Vale transforms into a small dragon, grabs Aragorn, and flies away.
  • Shain, in giant eagle form, and Aerendyl give chase. The dragon is about the same speed as Shain’s eagle.
  • Shain performs a 360-degree barrel roll to launch Aerendyl towards the dragon, and Aerendyl is successfully launched towards the dragon.
  • Aerendyl uses his grappling hook to target Aragorn on the dragon, hitting Aragorn’s leg. Aragorn wakes up in pain.
  • Aerendyl rams into Aragorn while still hooked, damaging Aragorn, but the impact dislodges Aerendyl’s grappling hook.
  • Aerendyl teleports to the dragon’s leg and stabs upward with his new sword, dealing damage to the dragon and causing it to shriek, but it tightens its grip on Aragorn. Aragorn takes more damage.
  • The dragon slows down slightly, and then spots Aerendyl, puffs smoke, folds its wings, and dive-bombs towards the ground.
  • Aerendyl casts Wall of Force, creating an invisible wall in the dragon’s path. The dragon flies directly through the wall, but Aerendyl and Aragorn are held back.
  • The dragon aborts its dive and begins chasing Shain (in eagle form) and Aerendyl (carrying Aragorn). The dragon is now 40 feet behind them.
  • Shain decides to intentionally crash land to shield Aragorn, taking the brunt of the impact. Aragorn will not take damage from the landing.
  • The dragon charges up a breath attack and aims for Aerendyl. Aerendyl uses his immovable hourglass, causing the dragon to face-plant into the ground. The dragon, no longer looking at the hourglass, bites Aerendyl causing Aerendyl’s leg to be ripped off, but he is still alive.
  • The dragon does not stop. Biting each of them until they pass out.
    Session ends Dreamember 29th 800av 5:00PM.
