- His nine-year-old daughter, Lenola Resmond, has become obsessed with magic.
- The actual job is to discourage her from practicing magic, rather than teach her.
- Shain negotiates to stay in guest quarters, which includes:
- Four bedrooms
- Two bathrooms
- Kitchen
- Study room
- Loft
- Aragorn is allowed to stay as a “bodyguard”.
First Night in the Estate:
- Shain and Aragorn explore the library, finding books on:
- They send a message via the Orb of Zoom to the rest of the party about their situation.
Magic Tutor Begins:
- The next morning at 9 AM, Lenola Resmond arrives, eager to learn magic.
- Shain introduces himself and demonstrates magic by:
- Summoning his familiar (a crow)
- Using Mage Hand to close a door
- Lenola Resmond wants to see big explosions, referencing a street performer.
- To impress her, Shain casts Polymorph, turning his crow into a lion.
- Lenola’s other tutor shows up, telling them she would not study. She asks them to help make her study. Lastly, she gives them her books, telling them she needs to go to chapter 4 today. (implying two chapters a day)
