Session starts Mistfire 11th 800av at 6:00 AM
- The party awakes to a bell ringing from the corner of their room. When they look to investigate, they see a row of bells (each of them are in their own room, same thing in each) each one is labeled. The on that is ringing is labeled; food.
- The party exits their respective rooms, meeting in the hallway. To the party’s surprise, Yinlare exits one of the rooms. He claims to have done some sneaking around and tells the party that the prince is freaked out that the party is here.
- They decide to head downstairs where they find a curious person. Whereas all of the people they have met in this place were kobolds standing at a stern 2-3 feet, in the kitchen was a girl standing about 4” 7’, she had flowing red hair with point ears. She introduces herself as Ner’ees, the one in charge of the consolate. She had made breakfast for the party which was on the table to the side. She seemed very shy and reserved when the party spoke to her. The party questioned how she was using the kitchen effectively when most of the counters were only about one and half feet tall. Interestingly, the table seemed to have been made for tall creatures as the party was able to fit comfortably at the table.
- The party begins to eat, but Shain wanted to know more about this strange girl, she focuses on her attempting to gleam more information.
- This is a vision that only Shain saw. The rest of the party has no knowledge of this
- He sees a girl in a room full of bunk beds, a communal sleeping area, crying int he corner of the room while multiple other, regular sized, kobolds stand pointing and laughing.
- Shain suddenly stands up and darts toward the front door, launching himself into the dirt outside. To the surprise and horror of all those around, Shain begins to shovel dirt into his mouth, ingesting an ungodly amount of dirt and grime from the street.
- Ner’ees peeks out noticing his desire to eat dirt and asks the party if they would like dirt instead. Claiming she was unaware that surface dwellers eat dirt. Fortunately the party shut this down relatively quickly, claiming that he was the only one like that.
- Whilst Shain was devouring dirt in the street, a new kobold appears in front of him with a judgmental look on his face. He, slightly confused and with a smug attitude, asks if the dirt tasted good and if he was done.
- Shain stands up, trying to look refined, and pats the dirt off his clothes, appearing to be over whatever made him eat dirt. He excuses himself to go clean up.
- The stranger identifies himself as Krimola Rik II. He claims to be there to question the party at their earliest convenience. He says he will be in the study and for the party to meet him down there when they are ready.
- The party, minus Shain while he cleans up, heads downstairs to talk with the man. He asks them who they are, and why they are here. Eventually he comes under the understanding that Aerendyl is an ambassador from Thalassiril who have come to meet with Obnadra, and the rest are guards. He makes peace with the situation, and begins to head up the stairs before being stopped by Shain who is coming down.
- Shain introduces himself as Krimola Rik II asks him the same thing he just asked the rest of the party.
- Shain responds that the party is here to see the great dragon Obnadra, but he is really here to learn more about the Umbrastones.
- Krimola seems satisfied with that response and heads to the exit.
- The party groups up, and begins to discuss their next plan of action. The party is split as they are unsure how powerful these Kobolds are. Eventually, Yinlare mentions how they fought a god and won, so there is not much to be worried about - “What!?” the party hears from behind, when they turn; Ner’ees is standing there, awestruck at the party’s claim.
The rest of this recap is kinda rushed. If you can, I would appreciate a more detailed recap. Please refer to Contribution - They convince Ner’ees to join them, she grabs a wooden box with words etched into them in netherrees, this surprised Shain, but he does not address it in fear of scaring the girl.
- Krimola returns and asks more questions. However, when he leaves the party feels as though it is no longer safe and that they should leave.
- Shortly after, Turf’kin, the guard who escorted them and knows that they aren’t supposed to be here, shows up holding the parties weapons. He claims that the prince is going to order them killed and they should run.
- The whole party, including Turf’kin and Ner’ees go invisible through various means and make their way to an empty backyard somewhere. Shain uses polymorph and turns into a kongamato and has everyone climb aboard.
- Shain flys over the wall to the north east, heading toward a “train station” where, supposedly, there is an elevator where they can go back up to the surface world.
- Ner’ees expresses concern about the above world, thinking it is a dangerous place.
- As they are flying, the walls behind them begin to change and strange balista like contraptions appear among the top of the walls. They have a blue spotlight searching for, presumably, the party.
- Luckily, Shain sees the pattern of the search and is able to evade them, instead it locks to something off in the distance. When it fires it flies past them at incredible speed, eliminating whatever it shot at.
- The party gets to the elevator and goes up to the surface. When they get up there, the inside appears to be made of wood. The wood opens, revealing that they are inside a tree. When they leave, Aerendyl sends the elevator back down and closes the door, making it indistinguishable form a regular tree. However, Aerendyl does make the back of the tree with a recognizable symbol, allowing him to find it in the future.
- They head towards Treltonia, stopping deep in the woods to make camp. They use tiny hut and go to sleep.
