Session begins Dreamember 36th 800av at 12:30 PM.
- The party, consisting of Shain Everon, Caitlin, and Solvar, enter a portal created by Shain Everon. They emerge in a courtyard on a floating island in a space-like area, which Shain Everon has been to before.
- Shain Everon performs an Arcana check and gets a total of 30, sensing that his dodecahedron is abnormal. He attempts to open a portal back home but fails, realizing they are stuck.
- The party enters a castle and encounters an automaton on a ball, identified as a B-12. The robot is cleaning the hall.
- Shain Everon and Caitlin try to get the automaton’s attention, and it responds in a robotic voice, “you are not where you’re supposed to be.”
- The automaton then attempts to grab Shain Everon. Shain Everon resists with a Wisdom saving throw of 27.
- Caitlin attempts to talk to the automaton but is ignored. She then attacks it with her sword. The automaton transforms its hand into a sword.
- In one turn, Caitlin defeats the automaton, dealing a total of 72 damage (49 radiant and 23 piercing) by disarming it and cutting off its head.
- While Caitlin and Solvar handle the automaton, Shain Everon heads upstairs to a new room. He finds a universal generator with a dodecahedron inside that is two to three times the size of his own.
- The generator is powered by three out of four steam engines. Shain Everon discovers a small dodecahedron with no stars inside the fourth, broken engine. When a star shoots from the universal generator into the dodecahedron, the engine starts.
- Shain Everon touches the dodecahedron and is flooded with a vision of a world on fire. He takes 24 points of damage, which is negated by Solvar’s Divine Allegiance.
- The party discovers a study filled with books written in a strange language and multiple cracked and empty dodecahedrons. They also find a room full of monitors showing different universes and a small dodecahedron that is controlling what they’re seeing.
- The group finds a locked door and hears a voice from inside. They talk to the person inside, who is looking for a lost automaton named B-12. The person is revealed to be a man named Cyndal.
- Cyndal admits he is the creator of the artificial weave in this universe and that he has been experimenting on worlds for a long time to find the one he’s looking for.
- The party confronts Cyndal. Shain Everon uses a hand motion to get Caitlin to cover Cyndal’s mouth, and Caitlin creates a projection of herself with her Voidwalker armor to hold a blade to his throat.
- Caitlin uses Zone of Truth on Cyndal. Under the spell, Cyndal reveals that Shain Everon’s home world no longer exists and was used as fuel for his universal generator. He states that Shain Everon can’t get his home back but can bring back one person: Jessica.
- Shain Everon sends his crow to break the tanks of the mind-controlled people and the smaller dodecahedron. Solvar goes to a control room and starts flipping levers and pushing buttons, which causes the universal generator to short out. The automaton is no longer being controlled, and the magic in the area is hindered.
- Shain Everon attempts to take Cyndal’s dodecahedron with Mage Hand, but Cyndal counterspells the spell. He then tells Shain Everon that magic only exists here because of his dodecahedron.
- Cyndal teleports away, but Caitlin holds him still with her sword, and Shain Everon uses the opportunity to mentally delve into his mind, gaining all his knowledge. He learns that Cyndal used his home world as fuel to create new universes.
- Shain Everon confronts Cyndal, gives him his mouth back, and gives him a choice: either die or become one with Shain Everon. Cyndal chooses to live and is absorbed into Shain Everon’s mind.
- Shain Everon uses his newfound abilities to bring all the dodecahedrons into one. He then creates a giant silver tree to house the dodecahedrons and recreates a new universe from the memories of the people he cares about. In this new world, he will live as a hidden “lonely god” with his recreated friends and family, and will continue his research to find his original world.
