Session begins Dreamember 36th 800av at 8:00 AM.
- The party continues their journey from Gorgebottom, traveling at night toward Breaker. They had previously stopped in Gorge Bottom.
- The party stops to take a long rest. When they wake, it is still raining. Aerendyl performs a history check to determine how much time has passed since they were kidnapped. He deduces that it has been a week and that it is Dreamember 36th, 800av, which is New Year’s Eve.
- As they continue on their journey, they encounter a large ravine that is approximately 150 feet across. A path leads down the side of the ravine.
- Caitlin attempts to fly across the ravine, but an unnatural wind forces her back. Aerendyl and Shain Everon both perform magic checks and confirm that the wind is not natural.
- Aerendyl casts
Tiny Servanton a medium-sized rock, names it Lieutenant Dan, and sends it down the path to act as a scout for traps and foes. The party follows. - The party encounters two wind giants, Frank and Harry, who are guarding a stone bridge that crosses the ravine.
- Caitlin convinces the giants that the party is their friends by telling a joke that was originally told by a halfling 1,372 moons ago.
- Further, Solvar jumps in Caitlin’s bag of holding allowing him to skip through without a joke.
- Aerendyl is able to tell a joke and gets declared as a friend, he gives the alias Iron.
- Aragorn is also able to tell a funny joke, he gives the alias Brawn.
- Shain is not able to tell a funny joke and is forced to pay.
- As a reward, the giants give them a large stone contraption with a black sphere and tell them to press the “blacky thingy” to get it to work.
- Aerendyl punches the black sphere, causing it to create a perfect wind barrier that allows them to cross the bridge without a problem.
- After crossing the bridge, the party continues on the road to Breaker.
- Shain Everon inspects the black sphere, realizing it is made of Umberstone. Aerendyl inspects the rock he purchased from the blacksmith, which he and Shain Everon discover is a pure form of Adamantite. Adamantite is described as one of the hardest and most valuable metals, a solid 9.73 on a scale of 1 to 10.
- Shain Everon uses his
Rage(not really) ability to focus his emotions and pain into his dodecahedron, causing it to open a portal that leads back home. - Shain Everon, Caitlin, and Solvar decide to go through the portal. Before they go, Shain Everon gives a quick hug to Aerendyl, and Caitlin tosses her
Flametonguesword to Aragorn as a gesture of respect. - As the three characters enter the portal, Caitlin’s horse vanishes. The DM explains that the magical connection cannot pass between planes, causing the horse to cease to exist.
