Session starts Dreamember 26th 800av 5:00PM.
- The DM reminds the party that Aragorn, after defeating the dragon, aura farmed for a hot minute, then got a general kicked out of the military and the city.
- There was a three-month time skip where Aerendyl got a wonderful sword.
- There was some shopping done by the group.
- The city was fixed up from the dragon’s damage.
- 2,432 people died from the dragon attack.
- A feast is scheduled for tonight in exactly one hour.
- Shain and Aerendyl have a conversation in Aerendyl’s room at the inn.
- Shain asks Aerendyl to help him craft a device to constantly feed spells slots to the Dodecahedron.
- Aerendyl agrees to work on blueprints and ideas for the device, mentioning the need to test with the stones.
- Aerendyl expresses concern about needing more stones soon and mentions going back to Kolnada or finding more kobold merchants.
- Shain shares a “thought strand” with Aerendyl, allowing Aerendyl to see select memories of Shain’s.
- Aerendyl reveals he has acquired a new sword, a difference in his metal arm (concealed), and a navigational device (compass) that he is still tweaking.
- The feast is scheduled for 6 p.m. and it is currently 5 p.m.
- The party arrives at the feast, which is held in the town’s church, now modified to be a dining hall.
- They are pushed to the very front of the church at the grand table.
- Aragorn deduces the church is old and likely worships a newer god, Etrestia, the god of time, void, and peace.
- At approximately 6:10 p.m., the people become quiet and look towards Aragorn, expecting a speech.
- Shain stands up and holds up a drink, toasting to “the future king and his glorious people.” The people react with cheers and the dinner continues.
- The general enters, claiming that they must come with him to Intellectia to be for a trial of treason.
- Aragorn intimidates the general causing him to take a step back, but he quickly finds his resolve and continues.
- Caitlin and Shain engage in a verbal confrontation with the general, questioning the legitimacy of the vote.
- Caitlin casts Shield of Faith on herself and yells to the room, accusing the general of lies and deceit.
- Caitlin moves towards the general.
- Shain casts Wall of Force, encasing the general and his guards in a thick, clear barrier, with the top open so they can still hear.
- The general scoffs, stating their magic will run out.
- The general’s guards cast Hold Person, but it is ineffective due to the Wall of Force.
- Caitlin taunts the general, inviting him and his guards to target her with their spells to demonstrate their weakness.
- The general attempts to cast a spell on Caitlin, which causes minimal damage, as Caitlin is resistant.
- Caitlin puts a civilian in front of her to raise the stakes, but then uses her Arrow of Catching to become the target of the general’s Fireball spell instead of the civilian. The spell is ineffective against her AC of 25.
- Shain uses Message on the general to say, “Sorry to hear about your son. Wish it was you.”
- Aerendyl questions the generals autority, to which the general claims that “Intelectia is the capital of Bontrant and this city is the property of Bontrant.”
- The people in the feast become agitated and begin to protest against the general.
- The general looks directly at Caitlin and Shain, blaming them and Aragorn for his son’s death, and begins to cast another spell.
- The general leaves in defeat, but Aragorn is quickly approached by a guard asking for his attendance to something urgent.
- Aragorn, and the party, follow the guard up to the north tower where they can see a small army of about 200 soldiers nearby the entrance to the city. Further, they see the general on a horse approaching the army.
- The party decides to set out, on horses provided by the guards, to this small army.
- There, they once again argue with the general and find out that the small army is there to escort Aragorn (and friends) to Intellectia, whether by force or not.
- Eventually, the party agrees to go with the general to Aragorn’s trial.
