Session starts at a church on Skyfire 30th 6:30 PM
- They enter the church and meets Father Montgomery who is able to heal/un-curse Lorax for a fee of 75 gold. He claims the cost is due to the holy water he had to use.
- They then go to the tavern to meet with Valerius at 7PM, who quickly gets down to business. He asks them to meet with a caravan the following morning at sunrise to guard a shipment heading to Glaceview. For this feat, a humble 200 gold per person.
- The party agrees, and sends hm off on his way. Before going to sleep, however, Zaleios goes to buy a cart, he finds a stable and buys one for 45 gold. He tells the stable keeper that he will be back at sunrise to collect it.
- When he leaves, Valphi and Lorax decide to go out on the town, they look around and a casino catches their eye. They decide to try and enter.
- A bouncer stops them and asks them for their membership cards. in return, Lorax beats him, and Valphi makes hum incapacitated with magic. They have decided to rob the casino1.
- They enter the main casino area, and case the place. They find what is clearly back rooms, a sign states ‘Authorized Personnel Only’, flanked by two, half-orc, guards.
- Valphi uses Charm Person, which works for one of them. The other looks at the two suspiciously, and goes to talk to them.2
- They flee into the bathrooms. However, the guard follows Lorax into the bathroom.
- Lorax immediately kills the poor guard. He then goes and tells Valphi that everything is fine.
- As such, they both make their way toward the back room. The guard lets them through as he thinks they are friends.
- During all of this, Zaleios has begun to wonder where his friends are, and has begun to look around for them.
- Valphi and Lorax enter the back office and see a dwarf behind a long desk. He asks them who they are. In response, Valphi casts charm person again.3
- They try to convince him to give Valphi gold, because ‘Her 7 children are starving, they have no house, and they are in extreme debt because she has a gambling habit.’
- He falls for their deception, and gives her 200 platinum coins!4
- Valphi uses message and tells Zaleios where they are.5
- Zaleios enters the room after following the directions, he immediately talked with the party and learned that they plan to kill the nice dwarf that just gave him gold because they think he has more.6
- Zaleios immediately walks up to the dwarf, and up-casts inflict wounds, killing him on the spot.7
- They then raid the desk, any box they find, and a safe that they found in the closet.8
- Unfortunately, The box that contained his personal coins, as well as the safe in the closet had the alarm spell put on it. The door to the room swings open and guards start to pour in.
- The party gave a good fight, but with the reinforced walls and no windows, the door was the only way out. There were at minimum 12 guards outside. The party kills 3 of the guards before Lorax gets put to sleep by a wizard that showed up. The other two realize the futility of fighting back and surrender.

They attempted to steal the equivalent of 3400 platinum coins

This is not rules as written. If charm fails, the target should know and will likely become immediately hostile. However, this is their first time actually doing things of their own accord without my influence. As such, I went easy on them. ↩
